Hi, Life Engineers! I'm REUEL!
I'm a former power plant engineer turned life engineer, podcast creator, healthy lifestyle advocate, and personal finance advocate. For over 10 years, I've been servicing 400+ clients and businesses, and now leading a team of Life Engineer Planners through LEC Astra.
Why "LIFE ENGINEER"?
I believe that we are the engineers of our own life and we can innovate ways, create plans, execute them, and create the LIFE that we want even if we are not professionally an engineer.
I hold on to my mantra: "Every Day 1% Better"
A LIFE ENGINEER makes intentional choices to make every day at least 1% better by holding on to your personal goals so that one day you will achieve them and then have more LIFE (Liberty, Improvement, Family, and Energy)
That's why we promote personal development, personal growth, and continuous improvement because "there will be no one else accountable for MY growth EXCEPT MYSELF", agree?

Quick Facts About Me

I was a working student/working scholar when I was studying at the University of Santo Tomas and then became a licensed Mechanical Engineer.

I spent 5 years in a power generation company as a Quality Assurance and Shutdown Engineer in Bataan, Philippines.

I started sharing about personal finance unintentionally when I was in High School (selling cellphone load) and then doing different rakets during college (aside from being a working scholar) while maintaining decent grades to maintain my scholarship.

I became intentional in sharing things about personal finance when I was 23 years old when I was still a cadet engineer.

I quit my 8 to 5 job for a 24/7 business/passion. HAHA! YAY!
My Journey from Mechanical Engineer to Life Engineer
"I love talking to people more than talking to a machine", this is what I always tell to people when they ask me why I left my career as a Mechanical Engineer, yet I'm a licensed one.
To be fair, I did not expect it at all! But there were signs from college that I loved talking with people, sharing and listening to ideas with them because I was part of several student organizations and also a student leader/officer in a few of them.
But there are things that we can't control as a mere teenager.
Back then, my family had financial challenges and there I think started my real journey in personal finance.
How will I budget my allowance while studying and maintaining my scholarship while also being a working scholar?
Fortunately, I graduated and passed my licensure exam!
Fast forward a few years, I was then working as a power plant engineer in Bataan wherein I put up my in-house sari-sari store because I needed to earn more money for my family.
There I self-learned about inventory management, procurement, and somehow sales and marketing.
Profit from that sari-sari store paved the way for me to start my online watch store! WatchUpReuel which is still operating now!
Letting go of that sari-sari store gave me more time for myself that's why I wanted to learn more things in life.
That's when my friend introduced me to be a Financial Coach back in 2016.
Part-Time to Full-time: Financial Coach - Life Engineer Planner
I realized during my 3 years as a part-time financial coach that LUXURY is not always about MONEY.
I could really provide better than before with the help of different sources of income:

But I don't have time for the REAL LUXURY for me - Family.
Why? Because I worked and stayed far from my family. I can only travel home for 2 to 3x a month if time permits!
That's why I eventually transitioned to be a full-time Life Engineer Planner (Financial Coach), doing more of what I think I excel at - chatting with people and knowing their life aspirations, at the flexibility of my schedule!
And that took me 3 years to realize!
And it all started by taking 1 small step every day.

I have a vision...
Everyone is living their best life because they first started adding value to themselves. They set aside time for personal growth, health, and wellness, and have access to the right financial information and education to make every day 1% better.
I am also leading a team of Life Engineer Planners through LEC Astra. We provide financial planning solutions for young professionals and business owners.
I find this more meaningful for me because I can help change the lives of people.
This choice also solved my dilemma of having more time with my family without sacrificing my income! The bonus is that I increased my friends because of this noble career.
