We are all excited when we 1st enter the workforce.
“𝑀𝑎𝑘𝑎𝑘𝑎𝑡𝑢𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑎 𝑎𝑘𝑜 𝑠𝑎 𝑓𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑘𝑜!”
“𝑀𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑏𝑟𝑒 𝑘𝑜 𝑛𝑎 𝑝𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑦𝑎 𝑘𝑜 𝑝𝑎𝑔 𝑙𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑎𝑠 𝑘𝑎𝑚𝑖!”
“𝑀𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖 𝑘𝑜 𝑛𝑎 𝑦𝑢𝑛 𝑔𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑜 𝑘𝑜!”
But, have you ever experienced where you were stuck in a job you don’t enjoy? Not necessarily that you don’t like the work, but it was just so tiring? Different causes of “tiring” factors like routine works or same toxic people you see every single day. But you’re staying because at least you could provide for your family and for your needs.
Last week, I talked to a chemical engineer whom I know since college. She was younger than me but has very big goals! We catch up and talked about her goals in life.
“𝑲𝒖𝒚𝒂, 𝑵𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒅 𝒑𝒐 𝒚𝒖𝒏 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒐 𝒌𝒐… 𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒐 𝒏𝒂 𝒑𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒈 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒇𝒕…”
Then I asked her, “What do you do to de-stress yourself? What makes you stay sane? Samgyupsal? Milktea?”
Engr. KoaLa: “𝑨𝒉𝒉! 𝑰 𝑫𝑹𝑨𝑾, 𝑲𝑼𝒀𝑨!”
And that’s when I saw her eyes lit up. She told me stories about how she started it and how she uses it as an outlet of her stresses. You could really feel her enthusiasm while she's sharing!
Though she’s a licensed chemical engineer, she has a different passion in life. What’s great about her passion is that she did not expect she could earn from it. At the start, she didn’t have any engagement or any customers. But now, she’s earning an average of P1,000 per month with just doing what she’s really passionate to do on top of her day job! And she’s continuously improving her skills and investing in herself so that one day, she’ll be full time on her dream job.
Why? She wants her passion to expand in 2 to 3 years. And she’s doing it while being a process engineer on a shifting schedule.
