Taympers! (Time Freeze!)

Have you ever felt not moving from your bed, not working, and not doing anything for no reason at all? No, it’s not that you’re being lazy. It’s not that you just don’t want to work.

We all want to be productive. We try to do what we can with our limited resources like our time. During this quarantine period, I continuously engage myself to be productive, because why not? My usual travel time to and from my clients is easily converted to more time for productivity. So we re-organize our schedule to help us utilize our time. We try to create a habit by following it religiously, then adjust it based on how our body could carry it. This week, I tried to follow my schedule for my weekdays so that I could do more while working at home is still allowed.

But there are times that we just don’t feel like doing anything. We wake up from our bed and stare blankly into nowhere, and slowly drag our bodies out of the bed. We drink our coffee hoping that we’ll be back to usual. Unfortunately, the feeling is still the same. But we have to be productive that day. That’s how I felt last Thursday morning. I have my tasks to do and a schedule to follow. It’s not that I am being lazy, nor I don’t want my work. I enjoy what I’m doing recently! I just can’t find the reason why I don’t feel like doing anything that day.

Fortunately, I created my schedule for that day, I just have to prioritize which of them is urgent and which is still feasible for tomorrow. It’s like an active rest day. When I am not working, I treat myself by reading books, browsing the internet, indulge myself in memes, and sometimes take a nap in between. We need to have a break and treat yourselves. We need to recognize our small wins as well and tell yourself, “You’re doing great! But take care of yourself”.

It’s ok to be tired. It’s one way of RESPECTING YOURSELF. Remember to listen to your body. I found out that even though we really really enjoy what we are doing, it does not mean that we are not susceptible to burnout. We still have to learn to say “TAYMPERS! (Time First!) ako muna”.

Edit:

It's "Time Freeze" pala! Haha.✌🏻
